About

Max Simon is an artist and designer based in Brooklyn, New York. He views design as an opportunity to create monumental collective experiences through light and form; a way of elevating the everyday though familiar objects rendered unfamiliar. His work often begs the simple question, “Can I touch it?”.

Originally trained as a fine artist, he views furniture design as an outlet for exploring sculpture as a physical experience. Max's interest in vibrant, condensed movements and geometric form language translates into minimal designs and decisive, non-utilitarian forms. Concerned the with role of play and ease in art and design, he often experiments with kinetic elements and unlikely construction techniques.

He is a recent graduate of the Department of Furniture Design at the Rhode Island School of Design.
